Democracy Day

In 2016, Cleveland City Council passed an ordinance establishing “Democracy Day” in the City of Cleveland. Democracy Day is an opportunity for residents to engage their local elected officials about the impact of political influence by corporate entities and big money on our city, state and nation.

Cleveland City Council will hold a public hearing on May 6, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. in the Mercedes Cotner Committee Room, room 217, at Cleveland City Hall. The purpose of the Democracy Day hearing, as required by the ordinance, is to examine the impact on our city, our state, and our nation of political influence by corporate entities and big money. Members of the public are invited and will be given the opportunity to speak on these matters.
